Proton

Proton is the Malaysian national automobile manufacturer which was built in 1983 under the direction of the former Prime Minister, Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. The company was reported to develop a new, fuel-efficient hybrid car to beat rising costs and address environmental concerns. Proton exports cars to the United Kingdom, South Africa, and Australia and the company is aggressively marketing its cars in several other countries including the Middle East. Besides that, Proton cars has also been exporting a small volume of cars to Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Taiwan , Cyprus and Mauritius.

Proton Gen-2

The Proton Gen 2 is one well-developed and greatly designed car. The small Gen-2 hatchback is considered to have more personality and even visual appeal. The Proton Gen-2’s maximum engine power is 82kW @ 6000 rpm and its torque is 148Nm @ 4000 rpm. The standard equipment of this car includes 15″ alloy wheels, 4 speaker stereo, CD player, airbags, engine immobiliser, multi-function steering wheel and also a trip computer.
